Don't build up your kingdom.
Matthew 6:19-21, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Mark 8:36-38, For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”
Build up God's Kingdom.
Luke 4:43, But he said to them, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.”
Matthew 28:18-20, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you...
People don't think Jesus is coming back any time soon so they live life for themselves as if he isn't coming back. They are building up their
own kingdom and trusting in their wealth to provide for them instead of God. Unfortunately, in the end, their money and their good works won't save them. Romans 1:16, For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
