Royal Family

I am going to relate God’s Kingdom to the British Royal family. I am going to talk about how a relationship with King is vital to entering the Kingdom like a relationship with God is vital to getting into the kingdom of heaven. The Bible has many references to God’s kingdom being like a royal family.

Matthew 22:1-14, Jesus is speaking to them in a parable, saying. The Kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. This is also an analogy to the wedding supper of the Lamb, where Jesus the Prince of Peace and Son of God marries his bride the church. We will celebrate the wedding supper sometime after the rapture of the church. I believe this is the time Jesus will then return to take His place as King on earth.

Isaiah 9:6, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Revelation 19:12, His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. When Jesus returns at the end of the tribulation he will be taking his reign on earth as King. When we marry our prince, who is crowned king we will also receive crowns with him. I have previously talked about different crowns that believers can receive. In God’s kingdom we will rule and reign with him on earth.

Revelation 5:10, And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Revelation 19:16, On his robe and on his thigh, he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.

A comparison to the royal family can also help explain the Trinity. I know that sometimes fully understanding the Trinity can be hard. Is it one God or 3? I am going to relate the Trinity to the royal family. There is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All 3 are individuals but one Godhead consisting of 3 parts. Look at England’s royal family. The Queen is in charge, and then we have Prince Charles and Prince William. They are individuals, but we refer to them as the British royal family, singular. We do not refer to them as the royal families with multiple ruling heads and kingdoms. It’s one royal entity, one ruling power, yet they are all individual and unique in their roles. The Bible says we are the body of Christ. We are all individuals, and all have different functions in the body, but we are still one body. 1 Corinthians 12:27, Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

In God’s kingdom, Father God has a wife, which are the Jewish people. Isaiah 54:5, For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is his name. Jeremiah 3:6 also talks about the Jewish people as Father God’s wife and how Israel has been unfaithful but will return to her God her husband.

The Prince (Jesus) is the son of God and of a Jewish Mother (Mary). Mary represents the Jewish bride of Father God. The bride of the Prince (Jesus) is the gentile Church. 2 Corinthians 11:2, For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. Ephesians 5:30-32 also talks about how our relationship with Jesus is like that of a wife.

If you are interested in becoming a part of God’s Kingdom let’s see how we can do that. To live in the palace and reign with the king we need to become a family member. They don’t just have friends move in. It is a family home.

To become a family member of the royal family you can’t just believe the prince exists and when you knock on his door expect he will take you in. You can not become a royal just by hoping or being a good person. It’s not by our good works. The Prince is seeking to marry someone he has a relationship with.  Matthew 7: 21-23, Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the WILL of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. These are people that are calling Jesus Lord and Jesus is saying he never knew them. Many people have a head knowledge of God but lack a relationship with him.

We all probably think we know Prince William and Harry and have seen them grow up but without that one on one time spent together we don’t really know them and they surely don’t know us. We only know what we have seen and heard about them.

The only way you can become a royal is to marry one. Kate Middleton and Megan Markle could not have been devoted to and have married the guy down the street with no royal blood and expect to move into Buckingham palace (which in this scenario represents heaven). Kate and Megan had to marry someone with royal blood. Prince William and Harry would not want someone they had no relationship with to move in with them, especially if that person was devoted to someone or something else. We all long to be with someone who loves us just like God longs for that as well.

How long will it take to start a relationship with the Prince? How long does it take to accept a proposal? You just need to say Yes, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Once you do that then you should be working on and developing that relationship.

The Thief on the cross accepted Jesus when he was dying. Jesus did not put him through a test to see if he was a good person or did many good works. None of us are good but he loves us anyways. We have someone who loves us unconditionally and he longs for us to love him back. He is a gentleman and will never force us to love him or spend our life with him, but he sure is hoping you say yes.

Can you tell if someone is engaged without seeing a ring? Sure, usually one of the first things an engaged person does is tell people. They are excited! They are not embarrassed by their groom or keep him a secret. I know in some countries this may not be an option, but for most of us there is no reason to keep our engagement and relationship a secret. If someone says something bad about their fiancé they will stand up for him. They long to please their fiancé and try to do things that make him happy. They don’t ignore him but talk to him regularly. The way we talk to Jesus is through prayer. They prepare their garments for the wedding. Some engagements are long, and some are short like the thief on the cross.

In a single year there are approximately 650 thousand pre-mature deaths in the US alone. I know this all too personally. I have lost multiple friends. You do not get a warning before you die. Do not wait to say yes. If you die without Jesus, you will not enter the palace. He is only going to spend eternity with those who pursue and love him.

To live in Kensington Palace you have to marry someone of British royal blood. To live in heaven you have to marry someone with Divine blood. That someone is Jesus. He has paid a high price for us on the cross and is proposing. We need to accept that proposal to enter his Kingdom. When you say yes, you become betrothed to Christ and will marry our Prince (the prince of peace).

When your groom the King of Kings comes to get you at the rapture, it will be more grand than any earthly, royal wedding. Are you ready?
