A Million Dollars Unattended

Would you walk out of your house with a million dollars in cash?  Would you leave it unattended in your car while you go to work or even for a couple of minutes so you can run into a convenience store?  Would you leave your purse with the money at a table in a restaurant while you run to the bathroom?  You would probably be scared to leave it unattended for even a minute because having that money is so valuable?  I would be scared to carry it around anywhere for fear someone would steal it.  There is only one place I would feel safe keeping that money and that is in a bank.  The enemy is out there and he is looking to take what is most valuable to you.  I am not talking about a million dollars; I am talking about your soul. If you place your heart and soul with Jesus it will be safe.  Matthew 6:19-21, Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in an steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in a steal.  For where your treasure is there your heart will be also.

Most of us don't have even close to a million dollars.  Since a million dollars is so valuable, I have another question for you.  Would you sell your soul for a million dollars?  Most people would answer no.  The devil wants to steal your soul and most people would consider their souls more valuable than a million dollars, yet people leave their soul unattended putting little thought and care into where they will spend eternity.  Why do people pay so little attention to their eternal future?  I think it is because they keep themselves busy with the cares of life and they feel they have a long life yet to live.   They will put it off till later.

Every day in the United States 7,000-8,000 people die.  If you turned on the morning news and the breaking news of the day was that three thousand people in the United States will die an unexpected death before the day is over, would you give it a second thought?  Well, that is happening every day of your life.  Approximately three thousand of those 7,000-8,000 deaths were unexpected and sudden.  It’s just a matter of time before death happens to you.

The devil wants to keep you blind and will tell you that you said a prayer when you were a kid to accept Jesus, so you are good.  Once saved does not mean always saved.  The devil tries to occupy your time with everything.  He makes minor things seem important so you will waist another day.  He probably whispers in your ear, “you work hard all week you should sleep in on Sunday.  Don't check out that church you have been meaning to go to.  Say yes to that project or fill your schedule with this and that, so you don’t have time to pray.  You have been reading all day at work the last thing you want to do is go home and read the Bible.  He is just buying time till that final day hits you.  You have now entered eternity without him.

Jesus gave the parable of the sower in Mark 4.
4The sower sows the word. 15And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them. 16And these are the ones sown on rocky ground: the ones who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy. 17And they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away. 18And others are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, 19but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. 20But those that were sown on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.
You have free will to ignore God.  The Bible says in James 4:8 draw close to God and he will draw close to you. If you are not drawing close to him then he is not close to you.  Seek God’s heart now before the thief breaks in and your soul is lost.

Matthew 6:33,  Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  When you become a child of God He will take care of everything as long as you seek him in everything. Don't let the most precious thing in the world (your soul) get robbed from you because you were to busy living life without Him.
