Pope - Bible Is Not True

2 Timothy 3:16All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,…

Pope Francis said “when we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything.  But that is not so."
Exodus 15:6, “Your right hand, O Lord, is majestic in power.”
God is able. He spoke and things were.
The Pope said, "God is not a divine being or a magician, but the Creator who brought everything to life.”
WHOA, did I read that right?  A man who is leading a whole church does not feel God is a divine being.  I wonder what he thinks God is if he is not divine.

"Evolution in nature is not inconsistent with the notion of creation, because evolution requires the creation of beings that evolve."
Genesis 1:26.  Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”
So are you saying God and Jesus are Ape like in image?  Why would he make us in their image and then have us evolve out of that image.  There is plenty of creation science out there to prove the theory of evolution is incorrect.  The devil does not want people to believe the word of God is true.  If he can get you to doubt one part he can get you to doubt the rest of the Bible.  He needs to put doubt in people’s minds and the ungodly world we live in embraces the lie. While there is evolution within a species there is never evolution that creates a different species.  I am confident he is not speaking about inter-species evolution with hair, skin, height, etc…. because there is no controversy with that line of thinking.
Romans 1:22.  Claiming to be wise, they became fools,

Romans 1:25Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

He said sometimes competing beliefs in creation and evolution could co-exist.

1 Corinthians 15:39.  For not all flesh is the same, but there is one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.

“Get time off in purgatory by following Pope on Twitter.
Under Catholic belief, after confessing and being absolved of sin, the indulgences granted reduce the amount of time one spends in purgatory, where one's sins are weighed after death.  Under the Pope's new offer, those who follow the week's events on the Twitter feed can get a speedier transit through purgatory, hopefully on the way to heaven.”
I don’t even know where to begin with this one.  The whole thing blows my mind.  There is no Purgatory!
2 Corinthians  5:8.   We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Jesus said this to the thief on the other cross:
Luke 23:43.  And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
How could this be if people must go to purgatory to finish paying for their sins?  Sins that Jesus was unable to pay for on the cross?  The thief on the other cross should have had a lot of sins he needed to pay for to get into heaven.  He did not repent till the last moment before he died.  Jesus said the thief was able to be with him in heaven that very day.  That is because Jesus paid for all sins on the cross.

"The notion of indulgence is that you've already been forgiven for your sin, because you've gone to confession, at least in theory, but what it does is reduce the amount of time you have to spend in purgatory after you die to work off that sin,"
Purgatory is a doctrine of works.  The only work you need to do is believe in Jesus, confess and repent of your sins.  We need to rest fully assured in him for our salvation.  No part of our salvation comes by works that we do, other than believing in the finished work of the cross.
John 6:28-29.  Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
Isaiah 64:6.  Our works are as filthy rags and our sin sweeps us away.
Romans 4:4.  Now to the one who works, his wages are not counted as a gift but as his due.
I don’t want to pay for my works!  I would end up in hell.  Don’t try and work your way into Heaven because you can not keep every aspect of the law.  If you break just one part, if only by your thoughts alone, you can not get into heaven. You can put your faith in yourself and work your way into hell or you can put your faith in Jesus.  I have put my faith in the works of Jesus and not my own.  Purgatory is a made up doctrine that contradicts the Bible.

“The concept of indulgences date back to the 1300s, when Popes began to teach that because the church had the power from Christ to forgive sins, the church also had the power to reduce the amount of time one spent in purgatory, said Hornbeck.”
This is a twisting of scripture.  Show me one Bible verse that says the church has the power to forgive sins. Only God does and if you are not going to him you are still in your sins.
Romans 16:17-18.  I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned.  Keep away from them.  For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites.  By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.

“A fundamentalist group, although it may not kill anyone, although it may not strike anyone, is violent. The mental structure of fundamentalists is violence in the name of God.”
fundamentalism definition. A conservative movement in theology among nineteenth- and twentieth-century Christians. Fundamentalists believe that the statements in the Bible are literally true. Note: Fundamentalists often argue against the theory of evolution.

Well, gee!  I must be a fundamentalist and so are Evangelicals, believing that the statements in the Bible are literally true.  He is a very liberal Pope.

“He is instinctively suspicious of priests who are hypocritical of their own religiousness.”
"I will tell you sincerely, I'm scared of rigid priests," the 78-year-old Pope jokingly said.  "I keep away from them.  They bite!”
“When a youngster is too rigid, too fundamentalist, I don't feel confident (about him).  Behind it there is something he himself does not understand.  Keep your eyes open!”
You don’t want to upset the status quo with stuff the Bible actually says.  This is scary!  Keep to your traditions and everything will be ok.  Hmm…. Who was Jesus the most critical of?  The Pharisees!
