This will be the last and final war in the tribulation.
This is known as the battle of Armageddon. The nations of the world are going to gather
in Israel to fight each other. Before this last battle God gives a warning to the Jewish people.
I am going to paraphrase Matthew 24 verse 15-24. Jesus is saying to the Jewish people. When you see the Antichrist go into the Temple and declare himself god, run to the mountains. Do not go back to your house to grab anything, just flee. It will be a time of tribulation the world has never seen before. Do not believe it when they say there is the messiah, come and see. False Christs will perform great signs and wonders and lead people astray, they can even lead the elect astray.
1,260 days based on the Jewish calendar is the final 3 ½ years of the tribulation. It is believed by scholars that the area in which the woman will flee to is Petra. Petra is a place in Jordan that is protected by large mountains made of rock.
Zechariah 13:8 Two-thirds of the people in the land will be cut off and die," says the LORD. "But one-third will be left in the land.
The land is Israel. This is saying that 2/3rd of the Jews will die in the tribulation. I personally think the 1/3 that survives will probably be those that immediately fled without returning home to get any of their belongings. God is going to supernaturally protect them, if they heed his warning.
Revelation 9:16 says there is an army of 200 million that comes when the angels at the Euphrates river are loosed. Revelation 16:12 said that when the Euphrates river dries up the kings of the East come.
In my own words Daniel 11:41-45 says that at the time of the end the kings of the south and north will come against the Antichrist. The Antichrist will overcome countries, enter Israel, and pitch his tent there. He will then take over Egypt, Libya, Ethiopia and will go out destroying. It also says that the Land of Jordan will escape the hand of the Antichrist. So, when the world comes against Israel in this battle, a remnant of Jews will be protected because they have fled to Jordan.
The final battle of the tribulation is not only a battle with man but it will be a spiritual battle.Revelation 16:13-14 I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon (that’s the devil) and out of the mouth of the beast (that’s the antichrist) and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. 14 For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.
The Devil along with the False Prophet and the Antichrist who are possessed with demonic spirits, will gather the kings of the earth to battle against God. God is also gathering the people, but for judgement. These are evil people who will not turn from their ways and want to kill those whom God loves. God is going to put an end to the rampant evil in this world.
Armies from all over the world are going to gather for battle in Israel. Revelation 16:16, And they assembled them, at the place, that in Hebrew, is called Armageddon.
The Valley of Jehoshaphat which is also known as the Kidron Valley is located between the Mount of Olives and Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives is the location where Jesus stands on the last day of the tribulation. Zechariah 14:3-4, Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. 4On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east.
Revelation 19:19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. The rider on the horse is Jesus and his army is the resurrected and raptured Church.
Revelation 19:11-12, I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head, are many crowns.
Verse 14-15, The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.

Armageddon
is made up of two Hebrew words, Har – meaning mountain, and Megiddo which is a place in Israel.
There
are no mountains called Megiddo but there is a plain country called Megiddo
that is in the Jezreel valley. Hills and
small mountains surround it. This is believed to be a location for the final
battle. This area is located about 80
miles north of Jerusalem and just south of Nazareth.
Another place armies will
gather in Israel is listed in Joel 3:2, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, on behalf of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations and have divided up my land.

16 On his robe and on his thigh, he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
When it says a sharp sword comes out of his mouth it means Jesus is speaking the word. Ephesians 6:17 the sword of the Spirit, is the word of God. All he needs to do, is speak and the devil and his army are defeated.
This final battle will be so bloody that blood will flow in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse’s bridle. This can be found in Revelation 14:20.
During this last battle it sounds like there will be Nuclear war.

Revelation19:19, And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. 20 And the beast was captured, and with it, the false prophet, who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.
During the tribulation God is giving people what they want, a world without him. He allows evil to thrive without restraints. He comes back after 7 years for those who have called upon his name during this time. It’s a temporary hell on earth but at least it is not a permanent one for those that have turned to the Lord.
This will be the closest to hell believers will ever get to and for unbelievers this earth will be the closest to heaven they will ever get to.
