"The attitude of Jesus is to include. There are two paths in life: the path exclusion of persons from our
community and the path of inclusion…This is the ‘including’ of God, against the
exclusion of those who judge, who drive away people, persons: ‘No, no to this, no to that, no to that…’;
and a little of circle of friends is created, which is their environment. It is a dialectic between exclusion and
inclusion. God has included us all in
salvation, all!"
2 Corinthian 6:14-16. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with
lawlessness? Or what fellowship has
light with darkness? What accord has Chris t with Belial?
Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God
with idols? For we are the temple of the
living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among
them and walk among them, and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from
their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord,
2 Timothy 3:5. Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
2 Thessalonians 3:6. Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.
The Jews were instructed to
keep the law. They were not to
inter-marry with the gentiles for they worshiped other Gods. God knew that association with the unbelievers would rub off on his people. He wanted them separated to keep them in the
faith so that they would not fall away.
There is a difference between evangelizing someone and hanging out with
them for fun. Would you want your kids
hanging out with kids who do drugs? No,
you want to keep your kids far away from them for fear they may give into peer
pressure. It is ok if your kids are nice
to them at school and talk to them, but to make friends and hang out with them
is crossing a dangerous line. We are
called to be separated. The Pope even
said he was making friends with Muslims, having them over to the Vatican ,
and going to their mosques. This man has
not separated himself from the world.

On Sunday, Pope Francis said that it's the weak and vulnerable,
who are most valuable in God's eyes,
Romans 2:11. For God does not show favoritism.
He stressed that it's always God who takes the initiative
in meeting us where we are.
