End Times - Other Characters in the Tribulation

I am going to talk about some Characters, other than the Antichrist, and False Prophet that will be prominent in the tribulation.

The devil will raise up the Antichrist and False Prophet, but God will raise up Two Witnesses, 144,000 Jewish evangelicals and Angels to preach the Gospel.

The 144,000

These are Jewish men who are virgins.  Their eyes have been opened to Jesus.  There will be 12 Thousand from each, of the 12 tribes of Israel.  These are God’s servants who will go out and preach the gospel during the tribulation.

Revelation 7:2-4, He called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.” And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel.

Revelation 14:1-4,  Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads. These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as first fruits to God and the Lamb.

The Two Witnesses

2 Corinthians 13:1 In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

I think Elijah will be one of the two Witnesses. I personally believe Enoch will be the second Witness.  Enoch and Elijah were both raptured and have never died.  We cannot die twice per Hebrews 9:27 and both Witnesses will die in the middle of the tribulation.   The Jewish people have a tradition of setting a place for Elijah at their Passover Seder.  They are expecting him to arrive before the Messiah comes.

Malachi 4:5-6, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes. 6And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.

Revelation 11:3, I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. The 1,260 days is 3 ½ years. They will prophecy in the first half of the tribulation.

Revelation, verse 5, if anyone would harm them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes. If anyone would harm them, this is how he is doomed to be killed. 6 They have the power to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague, as often as they desire. 7 And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them,(The beast that rises from the bottomless pit is the devil who is possessing the antichrist) Verse 8 and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified. (This will take place in Jerusalem) Verse 9 For three and a half days some from the peoples and tribes and languages and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and refuse to let them be placed in a tomb, 10 and those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and exchange presents, because these two prophets had been a torment to those who dwell on the earth. 11 But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 12 Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies watched them. 13 And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

I saw this video come out and it explains the different options for who the two witnesses may be in 4 1/2 minutes.  Got Questions - Who are the two witnesses of Revelation.

Angels preaching the Gospel

The Bible mentions 3 angels that go out and warn people.

Revelation 14:6, Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people

The angel in verse 9-13 is warning people not to take the mark of the beast on their forehead or hand or they will go to hell. He is asking for the Christians to endure and said they are blessed who die in the Lord and will rest from their labors.
